OUR HISTORY

FROM THE ORIGINS TO THE PRESENT DAYS

The company's inception can be traced back to 1958 when Pontiggia Tarcisio established it in Rogolo, a quaint village nestled in the picturesque region of Valtellina. Beginning as a humble, family-run emporium, the store offered a wide range of merchandise, from haberdashery items to small hardware supplies.

Sales at the store were attuned to the changing seasons, with seeds for the vegetable garden available in spring, rakes and clogs for the summer months, and provisions for grape harvesting and school items during the autumn.

Tarcisio's connection with his customers was more than just a commercial one; it was deeply rooted in his passion and practical wisdom. He often served as a trusted advisor to fellow villagers, not only offering product recommendations but also providing solutions to various challenges of the time.

In '68, when the house was built, it was decided to move the shop to the first floor of the house, expanding its volume and various references.

As time passed, Tarcisio's sons, Roberto, and Rosanna, also joined the family business, contributing to its growth and development. In 1979, the company transitioned into a general partnership. Specialized shops began to emerge, with a growing emphasis on products related to the food sector. Tarcisio, in a gesture of support for the younger generation, shifted his focus more towards public relations and overseeing home deliveries throughout the country using his iconic Piaggio Ape, thus creating space for the younger members of the family to take on increased responsibilities in the business.

Once upon a time, purchases and supplies were made directly by producers through representatives or through some local wholesalers. With the growth of the markets it became a need to be able to have contracts at a national level with large companies, it was therefore necessary to affiliate with a cooperative in order to be able to increase the quantity of goods that can be purchased while reducing costs. In 1982 the company thus became part of ARCeV, a cooperative associated with the CRAI group.

In January 1988 the historic Gravedona shop of Nello and Enza Neri was withdrawn, two important figures who were able to pass on their experience and knowledge with patience and love.

1994

In 2017 the Gravedona store was renovated, expanding the offer towards local, high-quality products.
